Process for my 2009 Bachelor of Fine Arts degree project.


The original intent with my degree project was to create pamphlets of infographics with statistics I gathered about RISD's Asian Americans. As the project progressed, I realized that using infographics was not effectively aiding me in expressing the dynamics and irregularity in the Asian American culture that made it unique. I saw the difficulty in representing the culture in concrete, statistical terms and realized a more abstract approach was necessary. This eventually culminated in my final book, Finding Asian America.
